a lot of work and money is needed to repair/restore this piece of history. The building was constructed during the Civil War period and at the time West Virginia became a separate State from Virginia. Believe it or not, the city wanted to tear the place down!?! Ignoring the historical facts that it is the largest hand cut stone building in the United States!
